Hey y'all!
I was looking in one of my favorite knitting books, Knitting Mochimochi. ( for more details, see here.) In the book, she was showing how to seamlessly knit an amigurumi without sewing on the feet and ears. The book had an amigurumi to model in her book and it was ADORABLE!!! I wanted to make it for myself, so I did! :) Here is what the finished product looked like:
Isn't he soooo cute???? :P If you want to make him, then here is the pattern! :D
Pattern...
Materials....
Purple Yarn. ( I used Red Heart Super Saver Solids in dark purple.)
DPNs
Yarn needle
Size 12 plastic safety eyes.
Pattern.....
Feet. ( make 2 but we will join them together later.)
CO 6 sts onto 3 DPNs. ( there should be 2 sts on each DPN)
Rnd 1: kfb ( 12 sts)
Rnd 2:knit
Rnd 3: (kfb,k4,kfb) twice. ( 16 sts)
Rnd 4 and 5: knit
Break yarn, and place these 16 sts onto a stitch holder. ( or on a long strand of yarn if you dont have a holder.)
Repeat rnds 1-5 above to make another yarn without breaking yarn.
JOINING FEET TOGETHER.
K8( from the sts on the needle.) , co 5 sts using backward loop cast on. place remaining unworked sts onto one needle to work later. Slip 16 sts from holder onto 2 more needles, and with a 5th needle, k16. CO 5 sts using the backward loop cast on, then knit the remaining 8 std from your second foot. ( 42 sts)
Distribute all sts onto 3 needles and place marker. You will continue to work in a rnd to form the body.
( if you got confused, then check this tutorial here to help you join feet together.)
BODY
Rnds 1-30: knit.
Distribute all sts onto 4 needles and knit with the fifth needle.
Attach size 12 mm safety eyes.
EARS
( I got these pictures from the book, Knitting Mochimochi.)
Rnd 1-4: knit
Rnd 5 : dec around. ( 6sts.)
Draw sts tightly with a tapestry needle, and re attach the yarn to the other 2 needles. With a 3rd needle, repeat rnd 1-5 for the next ear. ( Before closing up the 2nd ear, stuff!! )
Finishing...
Weave in loose ends.
And there you have it!! I hope you like Ears. :) Please send me questions, or pictures to me at spoolofsunshine@gmail.com. HAPPY CROCHETING/KNITTING!
